Shackles
Kenter joining shackles
A shackle consisting of two separate halves, securely joined together with a center chock and taper pin
Chain cables can be connected by means of Kenter joining shackles
‘D’ type anchor shackles
The anchor ‘D’ end shackle is the second shackle from the anchor; the first is the crown shackle.
We advise our customers to regularly check the condition of the anchor ‘D’ end shackle aboard their vessel to prevent premature loss of the anchor
Pear shaped shackles
Pear-shaped links that are often used to connect a common link to another common link with a larger diameter
Swivels
Super swivel
Using less space, this shackle replaces the longer swivel forerunner (the anchor ‘D’ end shackle, swivel forerunner and kenter joining shackle).
The Super swivel can be connected directly to the first common chaincable link and straight to the anchor shank
Swivel forerunner
A swivel forerunner is used in combination with an anchor ‘D’ end shackle and Kenter joining shackle and is a common construction aboard many vessels.
The swivel forerunner is used to establish a connection between the anchor and the length of the chain cable or for connection in the chain locker
